Welcome to the new West Midlands Champions for Older People Website hosted by the West Midlands Institute of Ageing & Health

Three hundred Champions for Older People across every Acute Trust within the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority are participating in the Champions for Older People Programme.

The programme is intrinsic to the National Service Framework for Older People and aligns with the current national programme on ‘Dignity in care'.

All the Champions are experienced nurses and allied health professionals who have embarked on a major service improvement programme that has a focus on improving quality care and addressing values, attitudes and dignity.

The programme has started to challenge working practices, develop improvements in care, services and attitudes and embed this into working practices of all staff involved with the care of older people.
