Membership Benefits

There has been an established pattern of regular conferences and seminars on a wide variety of topics, attracting eminent speakers from across the British Isles. In recent years the focus of our educational work has broadened to include and attract many other organisations with an interest in the social care and health of older people.

Publications

Membership Categories and Annual Subscriptions

Individual membership  £15 and for organisations (e.g. libraries) wishing just to receive the journal) first year for those joining through a conference or through their employer’s corporate membership £10 Group (or team) membership £25 This is designed for a small team or group of staff working in a unit, for example a ward or physiotherapy department. Meeting discounts (as above) will be available for 2 members from the group at any one meeting. Voting rights apply to two members from the group. Student membership £10 for people who are undertaking courses or training (relevant to their work) of at least 1 day a week at a recognised institution of education, including distance learning Corporate Membership £80 for companies and organisations with a ‘kindred interest’. Individual members working for an organisation with corporate membership receive a £5 reduction in their first year’s membership subscription and the organisation receives up to 6 copies of the journal for its library and key departments. Voting rights belong to a nominated person, who must act in the interests of the Institute rather than the ‘corporate body’.
